Leadership Weatherford is a program of the Weatherford Chamber of Commerce. This program offers an educational experience designed to help identify and motivate community leaders, provide educational experience that focuses on regional issues and needs. In addition, challenges participants to apply their talents throughout their community.
Leadership Weatherford is a nine-month education and development series, packed with top-notch all-encompassing course curriculum. The series features local and regional leaders/speakers, hands-on tours and excursions to community facilities, services and venues.
This program is structured allowing participants of Leadership Weatherford to access information they may normally never have. The goal is to share valuable information about our community and engage/encourage leadership and involvement while also building business relationships.
COMMITMENT:
Leadership Weatherford is held the 3rd Friday of every month from September to May beginning with a retreat in late August. Each class is 4-6 hours and attendance to Legislative Day in Austin is optional.
Participating in the Weatherford Leadership class can offer a wide range of benefits, both personally and professionally.
Enhanced Leadership Skills:
Leadership class will provide opportunities to learn and develop essential leadership skills such as communication, decision-making, conflic resolution, strategic thinking, and emotional intelligence. You can acquire practical techniques and strategies for effectively leading teams and organizations.
Increased Self-Awareness:
Through self-assessment exercises, feedback from instructors/peers, and reflective activities, you can gain a deeper understanding of your strengths, weaknesses, values, learning and communitication leadership styles.
Career Advancement:
Developing strong leadership skills is often essential for career advancement. Participants may become a more competitive candidate from promotions and or job opportunites.
Networking Opportunties:
Participants will have the chance to network withpeers, instructors, guest speakers, and industry professionals, expanding your professional network and opening doores to new opportunities, collaborations, and mentorship.
Personal Growth:
Leadership development is not just about professional advancement; it's also about personal growth and fulfillment. Participants may discover new strengths, interests, and passions throught the course of the program. You will also gain a sense of purpose and satisfaction from making a positive impact as leaders in your organization and community.
Taking a leadership class can be a transformation experience that equips participants with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to excel as leaders in your careers and communities.

These friendly folks are the Welcome Committee to new members. They attend ribbon cuttings and help the Chamber with many special events. There are a limited number of Ambassadors, so there is usually a waiting list. Ask us how you can become an Ambassador.

The Young Business Leaders meet once a month. For ages 20-40.
Individuals of this group must be employed by a Chamber member. Individuals will learn the ins and outs of business. This group will work their way to becoming leaders in our community. Luncheons will be held in odd months and mixers in even months.

Weatherford has a Council/Manager form of government with an elected mayor and four at-large council members serving staggered two-year terms. City officials strive to ensure a quality future through services and development. Even in gonvernment Weatherford exists to create the strongest community in Texas.
